Hadassah Medical Center a été fondé en 1918 à Jérusalem par des membres de la Woman's Zionist Organization of America et est devenu l'une des premières cliniques modernes présente au Moyen-Orient. Hadassah rassemble deux hôpitaux situés dans différents quartiers de Jérusalem, l'un à Mount Scopus et l'autre à Ein Kerem.

Hadassah Mont Scopus est un hôpital multidisciplinaire créé en 1939 et qui compte plus de 350 lits et plus de 30 départements différents très divers, tels que l'ophtalmologie, la neurochirurgie, l'oncologie et la gastroentérologie.

Hadassah Ein Kerem est un hôpital de soins tertiaires créé en 1961 et qui compte plus de 800 lits et plus de 130 départements, tels que l'oncologie, la transplantation de moelle osseuse, la médecine pédiatrique et un service d'urgence.

Certains des services médicaux de Hadassah sont uniques à Jérusalem, comme la neurochirurgie ou seuls de ce genre en Israël, tels que l'institut de cardiologie, le centre mammaire de diagnostic ou le centre pour les maladies cérébrales.

Hadassah possède un partenariat avec la Hebrew University of Jerusalem, une université réputée dans le monde entier pour son école de médecine.

Hadassah Medical Center est situé à 50 km de l'aéroport Ben Gourion, dans la périphérie de Jérusalem, la capitale d'Israël.

Les hôpitaux de Hadassah se trouvent dans deux quartiers différents de la ville, de l'autre côté de Jérusalem, tous deux à côté du campus de la Hebrew University. Les deux hôpitaux sont très accessibles depuis le centre-ville, grâce à ses parkings et au réseau de transports publics.

La plupart des patients internationaux se rendent à l'hôpital Hadassah à Ein Karem. La clinique du campus propose tout ce qu'il faut pour le séjour, depuis l'hôtel moderne jusqu'au centre commercial, en passant par les supermarchés et les restaurants.

Hadassah Medical Center emploie plus de 4 000 personnes dont 850 médecins, 2000 infirmières et plus de 1000 membres du personnel paramédical. La plupart des médecins de Hadassah participent à des projets scientifiques de recherche médicale ou d'essais cliniques, en étroite collaboration avec la Hebrew University of Jerusalem et ses spécialistes.

Plus de la moitié de la recherche médicale menée en Israël est réalisée au Hadassah Medical Center. Professor Tamir Ben-Hur directs the neurological department.

The professor graduated from the University of Jerusalem in 1988 and since then his career has been developing within the walls of the Haddass University Hospital.

Professional interests include multiple sclerosis, childhood cancer, retinoblastoma and histiocytosis. He is actively engaged in research on neuroimmunology, neurobiology, in particular stem cell formation, with the aim of studying what he did an internship in Paris.
