Isterectomia
Panoramica:L'isterectomia è un'operazione per rimuovere l'utero. Con un'isterectomia, viene rimosso solo l'utero o anche la cervice, le ovaie e le tube di Falloppio. Un'isterectomia può essere eseguita attraverso la cavità addominale (isterectomia addominale) o attraverso la vagina (isterectomia vaginale). Un'isterectomia può essere eseguita come chirurgia a cielo aperto o chirurgia laparoscopica (chirurgia artroscopica). I fibromi uterini sono la causa più comune di isterectomia. Poiché il periodo di riabilitazione è molto lungo, l'operazione è indicata solo inse altri trattamenti non hanno avuto successo. Dopo un'isterectomia, una donna smette di mestruare, non può avere figli e le viene prescritta una terapia ormonale sostitutiva.
