La chemioterapia è un trattamento conservativo del cancro con farmaci chimici. La chemioterapia può essere uno dei componenti della terapia di combinazione e può essere combinata con la radioterapia o la rimozione chirurgica del tumore. L'obiettivo della chemioterapia può essere sia la completa distruzione del tumore canceroso sia il rallentamento della crescita e della riproduzione delle cellule cancerose.
