Hospital overview

The history of the University Hospital Dresden, or the University Hospital of Carl Gustav Carus which is the formal name of this hospital, began 300 years ago. Back at that time the main function of this hospital was to communicate basic medical knowledge to military surgeons. Later on the Collegium Medico Chirurgicum became the ground for a clinical hospital which continued to expand. Now it is the only interdisciplinary hospital in East Saxony.
