University of Heidelberg was founded by Rupert I, Elector Palatine in the 14th century under the auspices of the Pope. Since then it has become an integral part of academic life in Europe thanks to the achievements of the specialists. For example, three professors who conduct research at the university were awarded a Nobel Prize in medicine. Knowing this there is no surprise that the medical division of the university became a well-known center popular with patients from all over the world. Every year doctors from Asia, the USA and Israel come to Heidelberg to attend specialized courses in order to improve their qualification and exchange experience with German colleagues.
